Renovation for a Growing Family

For this project, SDI Architecture was tasked with reimagining an existing villa for a family of five, transforming it into a space that could adapt to the evolving needs of daily life while honoring the structure’s original charm. The renovation focused on creating a more welcoming and functional flow—introducing defined spaces for work, gathering, and quiet retreat without disrupting the home’s natural rhythm.

At the entry, a formal receiving area was added to provide a gracious transition from public to private space—offering guests a warm first impression and giving the family a moment of pause before stepping into the heart of the home. A private office was integrated nearby, designed as a peaceful enclave for focused work or study. It’s subtly detached from the main living zones but still connected enough to remain part of the household’s energy.

Throughout the villa, natural light and intuitive circulation were enhanced to support a sense of calm and openness. The renovation preserved key architectural details while modernizing materials, finishes, and fixtures to support long-term comfort and sustainability. The result is a layered, intentional home that feels equally suited to busy mornings, weekend hosting, and quiet nights in—a renovation that respects the past while looking confidently toward the future.
